ST. CHARLES, IL – (July 2, 2010) – Kyle Bosch, a 15-year-old at St. Francis High School in Wheaton, Illinois and Junior Rank Alum, was invited by both the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana to attend their one-day football camps.
“It was thrilling, humbling, exciting – probably the best two days of my life,” Bosch, a 6’4” 265 soon-to-be-sophomore who played sophomore ball as a freshman before being moved to Varsity for last year’s playoffs, said. “I was one of the youngest at both camps and I was nervous. But I focused and played hard. To be on a college field and think about the opportunities that lie ahead…it’s amazing.”
Bosch, who Chicago Sun-Times reporter, Taylor Bell, referred to earlier this year as the ‘poster boy’ for Junior Rank, was discovered by Junior Rank President and CEO, Shaon Berry, when he was a 7th grader.
“I literally walked across the street from my home to a middle school football game and said ‘who the heck is that big boy who can move like that and catch’,” Berry said. “Junior Rank and juniorrank.com was in its infancy then and after realizing that Kyle clearly had the size and talent I spoke with his coaches and teachers who said he had the grades and character to be among the best. Since then, it’s been an exciting ride for Kyle, who was invited to the All-American Combine in Texas earlier this year where he was interviewed by Rivals.com, and invited, just last month, by Tom Lemming to be in his annual scouting report. Giving opportunities to young athletes with exceptional talent and character – THIS is what Junior Rank is all about.”
Bosch, who has been practicing and lifting with the St. Francis Varsity team this summer, is quick to acknowledge his success stemming from Junior Rank.
“Since meeting Mr. Berry and being on JuniorRank.com my life has been changed,” Bosch said. “The dream of playing college football has gotten so much closer. Newspaper reporters call my house and even reporters at the camps say ‘oh you’re that kid’. I have to keep grounded and work hard. All the colleges want good grades and a good ACT score to come with your football ability. My coach, team and family have been really supportive – I am really blessed to have gotten this far.”
Bosch, who attended the Arizona camp on June 5, was one of 120 athletes attending the camp and received MVP awards in both offense and defense. He also recently attended camp, June 29th, at Notre Dame with approximately 80 other athletes.
Bosch, who said he received nearly 30 camp invitations, had to narrow down his choices this summer to just two.
“Going to camps, especially far from home, is expensive so my parents said I could go to one far from home and one close,” Bosch said. “Next year I’ll have to select two more. But, for now I’ve got to get ready to play my best season of football ever and support my team in any way they need me. Every play 150%- that’s what I need to focus on.”
