Shaon Berry – Founder/CEO
In 2009 Shaon Berry, a former University of Pittsburgh running back with extensive professional experience as a Human Resources executive, recognized the need to shift the student athlete paradigm and founded Junior Rank.
Recognizing that over 41 million American middle-school aged children play competitive sports and having watched some young athletes rise to success – but ill-prepared for the next level – Berry aimed to create a responsible media space that showcased their abilities both inside and outside of the classroom.
Starting with a series of football combines in 2009 and launching opportunities for basketball, volleyball and baseball players later in 2010, Berry seeks to celebrate junior athlete talent while nurturing and focusing equal attention to the importance of academics, character and deeper community involvement.
